Finding pet-friendly homes in Nashville

Finding pet-friendly homes in Nashville is high on the priority list for many families moving with their four-legged friends. There are of course many factors going into picking a home: whether it’s the overall quality of life, school districts, or entertainment and dining options. Pet-friendliness, however, can be just as important for your decision making process.

Unfortunately, not every home comes with a built-in pet washing station like the ones I shared on my Instagram page. But there are other things you can look out for:

Check the local pet laws and regulations

Does your pet need to be vaccinated? What are the leash laws? And what breeds might not be allowed in the area you’re looking to move to? Finding pet-friendly homes in Nashville isn’t just about the right place, it’s also about the right local community.

Find out specific HOA rules

Even if you comply with all local laws and regulations there might be additional requirements on the HOA’s side. For example, some HOAs restrict animals over a certain size or have specific requirements for dealing with animal waste.

Make sure the home layout works for you pet

Not only you need to feel comfortable in your new home — your pet should too! Look out for things like the amount of living space your pet has (especially if you will be gone for large parts of the day). Is there easy access to a yard — and if so, is the yard big enough to provide room for exercise? Some animals prefer quiet corners: make sure to check that your new dream home has spaces to make your animal friend feel extra cozy and comfortable.

Keep all those things in mind and you’ll have now trouble picking from a wide variety of pet-friendly homes in Nashville; and as always, I can be your partner on the search for your family’s dream home!
