Here are the things to know about Bellevue — one of Greater Nashville’s most popular areas. Bellevue has come a long way from its humble beginnings in the 50s. It really only existed around the railroad tracks next to the Harpeth river, and was made up of just a few buildings. This was enough to serve the nearby farms, and not much else. The suburbanization of the area really began in the 1970s, and it hasn’t stopped since then.
Bellevue has followed the growth of Nashville since the early 2000s, just like many other communities in the area. It’s now a sprawling suburban town with exciting new developments, like One Bellevue Place. It still maintains some sense of quaintness with help from the parks and trails in the area, and the mixed community of empty nesters and young families.
One Bellevue Place has become a major attraction to the area. It’s a massive entertainment, shopping, dining, and housing development all in one. There’s also an ice skating complex being built in partnership with the Nashville Predators. This huge complex offers a walking lifestyle while maintaining the suburb feel. It’s a mini city within Bellevue, and the locals are excited about what it’s bringing to the area. For other food options outside of One Bellevue Place, try the Loveless Cafe. It’s a local and tourist favorite.
Another draw to Bellevue is the Warner Parks. These two adjacent parks are favorites of nature lovers. Their hiking trails offer excellent scenic views and peaceful nature walks. You can also play a round of golf at either Harpeth Hills or Percy Warner Golf Course.
Parents have several choices when looking at schools in the area. Bellevue is home to two elementary schools (Harpeth Valley and Gower), Bellevue Middle School, Hillwood High School, and three private schools (Nashville Christian School, Akiva School, and Christ Presbyterian Academy. Students in Bellevue also have access to the Metropolitan Nashville Public school system
